Using miso paste and vinegar, Hatakeyama transformed the bronze surface of this vessel into an abstract field of earthen tones and expressive textures shaped by chemical reaction. These chromatic patterns evoke stylized landscapes and lie in contrast to the interior that has been meticulously lined with gold foil.
