Trahan Collection

Trahan Collection
Over the past decade, Founder Trey Trahan has assembled a collection of more than 350 works of contemporary Japanese art and their principal influences. The Trahan Collection bridges histories of old and new, rooted in natural material exploration—primarily clay, metals, and lacquer. A small number of non-Japanese works that connect through medium, utility, or technique are also included in the collection.
The Trahan Collection is anchored by the most significant assembly of Raku tea bowls in a private collection outside Japan, vessels that have linked people across five centuries and helped shape the course of Japanese cultural history. Fondation Trahan oversees the acquisition, documentation, curation, and lending of these works in support of our belief in the essential authenticity of human creation.
