Raised on three stout legs, the rounded body swells outward before narrowing to a small opening at the top, creating a dynamic sense of lift and suspension. While the form appears animated, almost poised mid-gesture, it remains stable and usable. Two small side handles and a subtly articulated mouth signal its intended use as a vessel, grounding the expressive form in a practical purpose.

The ash-fired Bizen surface is dark and variegated, with flashing, scorched areas, and mineral deposits that register the passage of flame during firing. Black Dance transforms utility into performance, demonstrating Kakurezaki’s ability to fuse function with sculptural vitality.
